The Summer Song

lyrics:

Gonna have a summer, with a little lady,
Gonna have a summer, just not this one.
Gonna have a winter, pulling all the shades down,
Gonna have a springtime, press a flower to your lips.

So it's been a year now since I wrote the first verse here.
Single through the easter, so glad I made it through the new year.
I've seen lots of people fall in and out of love soon.
Spent my time with a quill pen by the light of a full moon.
I wrote of a past love, jealous of her new springtime.
Locked my head in a rain cloud, swapped it out and now I'm just fine.

Gonna have a summer, with a little lady.
Gonna have a summer, it's okay if it's not this one.
Gonna have a winter, pulling all the shades down.
Gonna have a springtime, press a flower to your lips.

So are you here now? Either way I am not waiting.
Love will find me in her sweet time, summer leaves are slowly fading.

thanks for listening
